A long hopeful ball was played up in an act of desperation, the ball popped out to the cramping Stevie G a full 35 yards out. Maybe it was the tiredness, maybe it was sheer boldness but Gerrard took it on... and with a swipe of his right foot flashed it past the onlooking Shaka Hislop, to force extra-time. That's a true captain.
