Goal story:

Emile Smith Rowe is a football player that excites the fans, causes men and women of all ages to rise to their feet, and creates a feeling of elation around the stadium and the world of Arsenal fans. One of our own, it is impossible to not smile and feel a sense of pride.

Every time a childhood Arsenal fan scores against Spurs, it hits differently. Smith Rowe is one of those players that thrives off the support of the fans and there aren't many better days to judge the atmosphere of Emirates Stadium than north London derby day.

Ben White had been ripped into because of a lack of aerial prowess but he won the header to contribute to Arsenal breaking the deadlock inside the first quarter of the half. Granit Xhaka with a slick flick continued the move onto the recently and now permanently acquired Martin Odegaard who made the Spurs defence backtrack and switch on concentration mode to defend the counter-attack. The ball was distributed out wide to the feet of Bukayo Saka who beat Reguilon with a perfectly passed ball on the carpet which navigated its way to create a Hale End linkup once more where Smith Rowe was able to tap it home. I recall jumping into my Dad's arms I could not believe what I was watching. Scintillating football. Liquid football.
