Cristiano Ronaldo: Man Utd v Portsmouth 2008

Every so often players do something so unique that it coins a new footballing term. Cruyff had his turn, Grobbelaar had his legs and Ronaldo has his free-kicks. Leading 1-0 and dominating the game, Man Utd were awarded a free-kick 30 yards from the Portsmouth goal. Ronaldo stepped up in familiar style and unleashed a textbook 'Ronaldo' free-kick. The ball whistled past David James into the top corner before the keeper had time to move and got Sunday league players hitting balls high and wide while trying to catch the valve on a cold, rainy morning.
