Goal story: There was already a fierce rivalry between England and Argentina when they met in the 1986 World Cup quarter final; this was always going to be a fiery encounter. The first half passed without too much to report on, but early in the second came one of the most infamous goals in World Cup history. Dubbed 'the Hand of God' by Maradona himself. The No.10 skipped past Glenn Hoddle and passed the ball off looking for a one two; however it was hooked high up into the air by England's Hodge in the penalty area. Maradona rose and punched the ball past the onrushing Shilton.
