Chosen by Enrico as their favourite ever goal:

Milan played the first game away at Old Trafford and went down 1-0 pretty early in the 5th minute by a Ronaldo goal. Instead of sitting back and making sure they wouldn’t concede more, they started pushing for the equalizer and found it in the 22nd minute. Kaká dribbles past the Manchester United defenders and cuts inside the penalty area on the left, followed by (weaker) left-foot finish low in the far corner. A great goal on itself, but the best had yet to come 15 minutes later. A long goal kick by Dida was controlled by Kaká on the left in Manchester United’s half. After controlling the ball, he lobs it over Heinze. Evra tries to recover the ball, but instead of getting to the ball, he bumps onto Heinze, which leaves Kaká one-on-one with Van der Sar. For a player of his quality, at the prime of his career, the right-foot finish to the goalkeeper’s left was probably quite easy. After watching the goal back several times, it makes me think of the goal scored by the legendary Johan Cruyff for Ajax against ADO Den Haag on January 2nd in 1972. Not going to judge which of the two is better or more beautiful, but there are definitely some similarities. The reason that this is one of my favourite goals is that it is the first thing that I think off, when I remember that I was lucky to witness my favourite club winning the Champions League. Milan also won it in 2002/2003, but for some reason the memory of that win isn’t as strong as the 2006/2007 win. The fact that Kaká played such a big role for Milan that season probably also plays a part. Kaká went on to win the Golden Ball in 2007, the last player not named Messi or Ronaldo to win it until 2018.
