I’ll be honest this was so hard to choose!

Firstly, I was at Old Trafford with my dad watching Wayne Rooney make his full debut against Fenerbahçe in The Champions League. Wayne Rooney, one of the most promising English  players of the time, I remember my dad saying “he will be the best of our generation”.  Wayne Rooney laid his mark with a memorable Hatrick, under the lights and he literally set the stadium alight. What a player, what a night!

From the first goal, where Ruud slots Rooney in and he ruthlessly lifts it over the keeper into the back of the net and goes off to do his trademark knee slide celebration! Then, the second goal… A classy drop of the shoulder and low drive into the corner from outside the area, again a typical Rooney finish! And last but not least, the third! A fantastic free-kick from the D on the edge of the area… A rocket into the corner! Rooney really showcased what he can do, and continued to do throughout his incredible career and to be able to witness that, with my dad… I will always treasure that moment! ❤️
