For Tottenham supporters in a certain age bracket, and it becomes a rather large age bracket all told, there are very few really priceless moments to look back on. May 8, 2019 is one of those rare occasions. And while this moment did not lead to the ultimate glory, it sits nicely as being glorious in ultimate failure - befitting Spurs right now. I was not lucky enough to be in the Johan Cruijff Arena, but did, like the thousands in Amsterdam, go absolutely berserk when the clock ticked over to 95:01 as Lucas Moura's hat-trick goal hit the back of the net against Ajax to send Tottenham into the Champions League final.

It was an epic, incredible, unbelievable, never-be-forgotten moment. There was no time for pretty football, Moussa Sissoko pumped it long, Fernando Llorente knocked it on, Dele Alli turned the ball round the corner into the path of Lucas, who, for the third time, fired home with his left foot. 1, 2, 3. Priceless. From 2-0 down on the night and 3-0 down on aggregate, to watch Lucas score three times in 45 minutes to snatch victory (on away goals) from the jaws of defeat was mind-blowing. It was a moment that is unlikely to be topped and it did not matter (of course it did overall) that we did not go on to lift the trophy, after a dour final vs Liverpool, we will always have that memory. And what a memory.
