Norwich's one and only European adventure was a memorable one and this win in Munich was one of the highlights. With Norwich taking an early lead against Bayern Munich they probably thought they were in for a tough night of defending to maintain their advantage. However, 30 minutes in the ball fell to Mark Bowen on the volley after being headed clear by a Bayern head. Catching the ball clean Bowen smashed the ball goalwards and set Norwich on their way to a famous win.
