Jack Grealish: Aston Villa v Rotherham 2019

£20.00

My Favourite Goal from Hollie Hogan.

It felt like an all familiar scenario playing out in front of our eyes, a chance to propel ourselves into the play off spots and yet after 36 mins find ourselves a man and a goal down with no one to look to to take the game by the scruff of the neck, but this time we had Jack Grealish.

The second half saw Villa produce a brilliant comeback with Jack at the heart of everything, He contributed with a goal so individually brilliant that its my favourite goal of all time. Like the magnet he is, running through the centre towards the far side of the pitch, attracting 4 opposition players like ants to honey, seemingly nowhere to go.

Selling two directional dummies, he caresses the ball under his right boot pulling the ball back towards himself, then with the outside knocks it in the opposite direction finding a teammate who he uses to 1-2 it around the pack of the Rotherham swarm leaving them all for dust, oozing complete grace and class. He then carries on his charging run with the ball, towards the Rotherham goal looking like a man on a mission.

He sells a shimmy that easily takes their holding midfielder out of the game, he finds Elmohamadhy on the right side of the box, Jack cleverly holds his position on the edge waiting for the first time cut back from Elmo, it comes and Jack smacks it first time into the bottom right corner in front of the travelling Villa fans who erupt knowing they have just witnessed homegrown brilliance as well as a change in team mentality not seen previously for years.
