Paul Gascoigne: Tottenham v Arsenal 1991
The magic of the cup. With the stage set and two of London's fiercest rivals going to battle for a place in the final a free-kick was given all of 35 yards out in the 5th minute. The Tottenham players and fans awaited a cross or some sort of inventive effort from their talisman; Gazza had other ideas. With the Arsenal wall unorganised and almost goading him to shoot from that range, Gazza ran up purposefully and thwacked the ball with all his might, sending it arrowing into the top corner. The diving David Seaman managed to get some sort of touch on the ball but the power was simply too much. The first goal in helping Tottenham to a 3-1 win and eventual FA Cup victory.
